We are pleased to invite you to participate in the special edition “Semiosalong – The Semiotics of Medicine”, which will bring together researchers from Europe and the US to explore the richness and complexity of the intersection between semiotics, medicine, pharmacology and consciousness. The sessions will take place on the 26th of March, 9th of April and 23rd of April.
Grounded in the intersection of semiotics and medicine, this series aims to discuss systems of meaning, signs, codes, and forms of communication in the context of healthcare, medicine and pharmacology. The sessions will feature discussions and works across linguistics, communication, pharmacology, subjectivity, and more, offering a space for reflection and introspection into this unique and niche field. The sessions will feature two speakers per day, lasting a total of two hours, always on Thursdays at 18:00 CET (Prague time), 17:00 GMT (UK time) and 13:00 CET (NYC time). The format will be hybrid, with both in-person and online audiences. For in-person attendance, we will meet in the ISI Library Room, 1.02, at KB, Křížkovského 12.
